How Age Is Calculated
Calculating age precisely requires accounting for varying month lengths and leap years:
- Full years: Complete years that have passed
- Remaining months: Additional complete months after the full years
- Remaining days: Days left over after accounting for full years and months
Example: Born March 15, 1990. Today's date is May 5, 2026.
- Full years: 36 (March 15, 1990 → March 15, 2026)

How do you calculate age in months?
Count the number of full months from the birth month to the current month, adjusting for the day of the month. If today's date is before the birth date, subtract one month.
What is my Korean age?
In Korean age counting, you are 1 at birth and gain a year every January 1st. If you were born December 31, you turn 2 the next day.
How many days old am I?
Multiply your full years by 365.25 (accounting for leap years), then add the days in the remaining months and days.
Can I calculate age from just the year?
